Spring Break 2007, Intro London

LONDON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND VACATION WITH THE BYRONS
Back in May, Frank's parents came to visit and we met them in London! Frank and I drove to Brussels and flew to Gatwick on a Saturday morning, took the train to town and then the metro. We spent a fortune on our hotel and all our meals because London is so extremely expensive, but we had a great time. Our hotel, Durrants (see picture above), was located in Marylebone. A nice quaint part of town with lots of resturants and shopping. We visited quite a few of the main sites, took a nice boat ride on the Thames (see picture of the London Bridge), rode the London Eye, and ate very well (fish and chips and good ale).
We visited the British Museum full of Egyptian Artificats, and Greenwich to see where time began, and even rode the red tour bus. It was a great weekend trip. London is definetly one of my favorite large cities ever. Its even better than Paris because the people are so nice and there are just as many amazing things to see. Plus, people speaking english makes life easier.
