Going Vegetarian!

Here are a few more pictures from our trip home that Frank added I am finally posting. The top one is from Weidelwangerwand, this great climbing area 25 minutes away from us. The feilds are all yellow with rape seed (canola) right now. The one of me climbing is at Torrent Falls on my favorite 5.11 of all time, Center Fire.
So, the big news we have is we have quit eating Pork and Beef, and chicken soon to follow. We watched "Fast Food Nation" the other night which just disgusted me at how corrupt the meat industry is, and how poorly animals are treated. Did you know that tons of the meat at fast food resturants has fecal matter in it from the cows from improper handling! Gross. And, you would think living over here in Germany they would treat them great with all the family small farms, but no. We live next to about 5 barns full of cows that can't even walk around. They never have been outside and are strapped into tiny, horrible stalls. The pigs have the same treatment. They have all these fields everywhere that they could let them out into, but no, they say they don't have the space and keep them locked up in the barns. All I see around us is space though, tons of fields used to feed them! So depressing. Last night we had red snapper fajitas and they were quite tasty. New recipe time for us now for sure. And people always say how stupid cows and pigs are, like that makes it okay. Such a dumb argument that I allowed myself to believe for all these years so I could continue to eat my meat and not feel so guilty. No more. Plus, it helps the environment a TON to be vegetarian. So, there you have it.
